The Opel Vectra, a mid-size car produced by German automaker Opel from 1988 to 2010, featured saloon, hatchback, and estate body styles. It was sold under different names in various regions, such as the Vauxhall Cavalier and Vauxhall Vectra in the UK, Holden Vectra in Australia, and Chevrolet Vectra in Latin America. The Vectra replaced the Opel Ascona in 1988 and was succeeded by the Opel Insignia in 2008 after nearly 21 years in production. The first generation, known as the Vectra A, was launched in October 1988 as a four-door notchback saloon.
