The fifth-generation Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV introduced by Honda in 2016 as a replacement for the fourth-generation model. Unveiled in October 2016 in Detroit, United States, this generation of the CR-V is offered in both 5-seater and 7-seater variants, except in North America where only the 5-seater version is available. It is built on the Compact Car Architecture (CCA) platform, which it shares with the tenth-generation Civic and Accord models. In the United States, sales of the fifth-generation CR-V began on 21 December 2016 as a 2017 model year vehicle. Production of the CR-V was initiated at the East Liberty Auto Plant (ELAP) in Ohio starting in November 2016, with additional production at the Honda Manufacturing of Indiana (HMIN) plant in Greensburg, Indiana commencing in February 2017.
