Hyundai Excel

1985 – 1999

The Hyundai Excel, also known by various names such as Hyundai Pony, Excel, Presto, Mitsubishi Precis, X2, and XL, was manufactured by Hyundai Motor Company from 1985 to 1999. This front-wheel-drive vehicle marked Hyundai's move away from the rear-wheel-drive Hyundai Pony. The Excel, based on the Mitsubishi Mirage's second generation, featured unique sheet metal design by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Offered in three-door or five-door hatchback options, as well as a four-door sedan model, the Excel appealed to a wide range of consumers. The hatchback models provided versatility and practicality, while the sedan offered a more traditional and spacious option. Hyundai's transition to front-wheel drive with the Excel
