The Nissan Violet, introduced in Japan in 1973 as a larger counterpart to the Nissan Cherry, was an exclusive model available at Japanese Nissan dealerships under the name Nissan Cherry Store. The second generation of the Nissan Violet was launched in 1977, with two additional lines under the A10 series identifier - the Nissan Auster and the Nissan Stanza. These models were manufactured in Japan at the Hiratsuka and Yokosuka assembly plants. The Nissan Stanza, exclusively offered at Nissan Satio Store dealerships, served as a larger companion to the Nissan Sunny, while the Auster line was exclusively available at Nissan Prince Store locations, positioned as a larger counterpart to the Nissan Langley.
