The Nissan Violet was introduced in Japan in 1973 as a mid-size offering available exclusively through Japanese Nissan dealerships known as Nissan Cherry Store. It served as a larger counterpart to the Nissan Cherry model. In 1977, the second generation of the Nissan Violet was launched, which saw the lineup expand into two distinct lines: the Nissan Auster and the Nissan Stanza. These models were all part of the A10 series and were manufactured at the Hiratsuka and Yokosuka assembly plants in Japan. The Nissan Stanza was specifically aimed at Japanese Nissan dealerships under the Nissan Satio Store banner, offering a larger alternative to the smaller Nissan Sunny model. On the other hand, the Auster triplet was exclusively available at Nissan Prince
