The Infiniti G Line is a series of compact executive cars manufactured and marketed by Infiniti, a luxury division of Nissan, for the 1991–1996 and 1999–2016 model years, spanning four generations. The initial two generations, the P10 and P11, were sedans based on the Nissan Primera, while the third generation (V35) onwards saw the Infiniti G vehicles as rebadged versions of the Nissan Skyline line of sedans and coupes available in the United States and Canada. The innovation of a hardtop coupe convertible was introduced with the fourth generation (V36), adding versatility to the range. Infiniti made changes to its naming convention in 2014, signifying passenger cars with the letter "Q" and SUV models with "QX." The Infiniti G was intended to be succeeded by the Infiniti Q50; however, the G37 was revitalized as the Q40 from the 2015 model year onwards.
