The Infiniti Q45 was a full-size, rear-drive luxury sedan that served as the flagship model of Nissan's luxury division, Infiniti, over three generations from 1989 to 2006. The first generation, known as the G50 (1989–1996), was based on the Nissan President and featured a powerful 4.5 L VH45DE DOHC 32V V8 engine producing 278 hp and 292 lb-ft of torque in North American trim. Key features of the first generation Q45 included a viscous limited-slip differential and a sophisticated multi-link suspension at the front and rear. The subsequent two generations of the Infiniti Q45, produced from 1997 to 2006, were rebadged versions of Nissan's JDM Cima. These models continued the tradition of offering luxury, performance, and advanced features expected in a flagship sedan. However, sales of the Q45 began to decline, and Infiniti ultimately discontinued the model after the 2006 model year. Overall, the Infiniti Q45 was known for its strong V8 engine, luxury appointments, and distinctive styling. It competed in the premium full-size sedan segment, offering a blend of performance and comfort. While no longer in production, the Q45 remains a notable part of Infiniti's history as one of the brand's early flagship models.
