Kia Ceed CD GT

2018 – 2023 · South Korea

The Kia Ceed, previously named the Kia Cee'd until 2018, is a compact car created by South Korean automaker Kia exclusively for the European market. Launched in 2006, it was the first Kia model to be entirely designed in Europe to cater to the tastes of European consumers. The vehicle's name was derived from the initials of the European Economic Community (EEC or CEE) in various languages, with the addition of ED for European Design. The original name "CEEED" was modified due to the excess of 'E's, ultimately resulting in the name 'Cee'd until 2018. After 2018, the vehicle's name was simplified to Ceed without an apostrophe. Key Points: 1. The Kia Ceed (formerly Cee'd) is a compact car made by Kia for the European market since 2006. 2. It was designed entirely in Europe, marking Kia's focus on tailoring vehicles to European preferences. 3. The name "Cee'd" was created by combining EEC/CEE with ED for European Design, ultimately simplified to Ceed in 2018. 4. The model showcases Kia's adaptability and attention to detail in naming conventions to ensure brand identity and recognition.
