The Volkswagen Golf Mk5, also known as Typ 1K, was produced as a compact car by Volkswagen and served as the fifth generation of the Golf series. It was available in three- or five-door hatchback configurations from 2003 to 2008, and a five-door station wagon variant from 2007 to 2009. The Golf Mk5 was built on the Volkswagen Group A5 (PQ35) platform and made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in October 2003, hitting the European markets for the 2004 model year.
