Mitsubishi Dignity BHGY51

2012 – 2016 · Japan

The Mitsubishi Dignity is a full-size luxury car that was originally manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors, serving as the flagship model in the company's domestic lineup from late 1999 to 2001. It was reintroduced to Japanese markets in 2012 as a rebadged fifth-generation Nissan Cima but was discontinued for the second time in 2016. The Dignity was exclusively sold at a retail chain known as Galant Shop in Japan and was positioned as a symbol of grandeur and stateliness, reflected in its name. In its first generation (S43A; 1999), the Dignity was part of a range that also included the shorter Proudia model. Interestingly, the design and manufacturing of the Dignity/Proudia range involved a collaboration between Mitsubishi Motors and Hyundai of South Korea. Hyundai marketed their own version of the vehicle as the Hyundai Equus from 1999 to 2009, showcasing a shared platform and design elements between the two brands. Key Points: 1.
