Moskvitch, also spelled as Moskvich, Moskvič, or Moskwitsch, is a well-known Soviet and Russian automobile brand. The brand was initially produced by AZLK from 1946 to 1991, then taken over by OAO Moskvitch from 1991 to 2001. Production was briefly halted but resumed in 2022. OAO Moskvitch was a privatized venture established to manage the former factory, which was done to avoid legal complications following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
