The Nissan Primera, a spacious family car, was manufactured by Nissan from 1990 to 2007 for markets in Japan and Europe. In Japan, it succeeded the Auster/Stanza and was exclusively available at Nissan Prince Store locations. In North America, the Primera served as the entry-level luxury sports sedan for the Infiniti brand. The term "primera" translates to "first" in Spanish, in its feminine form. Prior to the Primera's launch, Nissan had been producing Bluebirds, which were essentially rebadged Auster/Stanza models, for the European market since 1986.
