The Porsche 924, manufactured in Neckarsulm, Germany, served as Porsche's entry-level model between 1976 and 1988. As a two-door, 2+2 coupé, it succeeded the 912E and 914 in Porsche's lineup. Despite the 928 being designed earlier, the 924 was Porsche's initial production vehicle to implement water cooling and employ a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration. Additionally, the 924 was the first Porsche car to offer a traditional fully automatic transmission, enhancing its accessibility and appeal to drivers. The public got its first glimpse of the 924 in November 1975, and the introduction of a turbocharged variant in 1978 further expanded the model's performance capabilities.
