Toyota Carina ED

1985 – 1998 · Japan

Toyota›Carina ED

The Toyota Carina ED, introduced in 1985 by Japanese automaker Toyota, served as a compact luxury car option within the company's lineup. Positioned as a four-door counterpart to the Carina sedan, it adopted a similar upscale approach seen in Toyota's larger pillared hardtop sedans such as the Crown, Mark II, Cresta, and Chaser. Sold exclusively in Japan through Toyota Store locations, the Carina ED was available alongside the standard Carina model, distinguishing itself from the Celica lineup exclusive to Toyota Corolla Store locations. Utilizing the same Toyota "T" platform as the Celica, the Carina ED provided a genuine four-door hardtop design, distinguishing it from its larger sedan counterparts by lacking a B-pill
