The Toyota LiteAce and TownAce are a range of light commercial and passenger vans manufactured by the renowned Japanese automaker Toyota. Initially featuring a cab-over-engine design, the vehicles transitioned to a semi-cab-over layout in 1996. The LiteAce made its debut in 1970 as a light-duty truck, expanding to include commercial models and van/wagon variants in 1971. Toyota introduced the larger TownAce van/wagon in 1976, which was based on the LiteAce platform, followed by the TownAce truck in 1978. During the period from 1982 to 1992, Toyota introduced the MasterAce Surf as a premium offering in the TownAce series, featuring a luxurious passenger wagon variant.
