Troll

Troll, a unique footnote in automotive history, heralds from Norway, with its inception rooted in the imaginative vision of Per Kohl-Larsen. This visionary engineer embarked on creating a distinctive vehicle during the 1950s, a period rife with automotive experimentation. The brand's seminal creation, the Troll 1200, was a microcar that debuted in 1956, encapsulating the post-war era's spirit with its fiberglass body and innovative design, a rarity at the time. Despite its pioneering approach, Troll struggled to achieve commercial viability. The Troll 1200, with its air-cooled two-cylinder engine and a quirky design reminiscent of a miniature sports car, failed to transition from a captivating prototype to a market success. Only five units were ever produced, making it a rare collector's item today. In contemporary terms, Troll's legacy is more a tale of what could have been rather than commercial triumph. The brand remains a symbol of Norwegian innovation and the challenges of automotive production in a small market. Its story resonates with enthusiasts and historians as a poignant example of ambition, creativity, and the harsh realities of the automotive industry.
