The Volkswagen Jetta (A6) is the sixth generation of the compact car series, succeeding the Jetta (A5) model. Developed under the name NCS (New Compact Sedan), it was introduced in 2010 and phased out by 2018 to make room for the Jetta (A7). A significant deviation from its predecessors, the A6 Jetta shifted away from a premium positioning in the compact car segment to focus on increasing sales volume in the North American market. Noteworthy for breaking away from its traditional sedan derivative of the Golf, the A6 Jetta features a dedicated body design.
