The Austin-Healey Sprite is a compact, open-top sports car produced in the United Kingdom starting from 1958 until 1971. The British Motor Corporation unveiled this small but dynamic vehicle in Monte Carlo on May 20, 1958, just two days after the Monaco Grand Prix. Designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company, the Sprite was created to be an affordable model that could be easily maintained by the average person, while also serving as a spiritual successor to the pre-war Austin Seven's sporting versions. Production was carried out at the MG factory in Abingdon, where the Sprite was brought to market at a modest price of £669.
