The Cadillac ELR is a luxurious plug-in hybrid compact coupé that was manufactured and marketed by Cadillac for model years 2014 and 2016. Built on a retuned version of the Chevrolet Volt's Voltec EREV drivetrain, the ELR boasted a lithium-ion battery pack that provided an impressive all-electric range of 37–39 miles and a top speed of 106 mph. Inspired by Cadillac's Converj concept unveiled in 2009, the ELR endured a tumultuous journey from production plans to cancellations during GM's bankruptcy and restructuring.
