The Chevrolet Aveo is a subcompact car introduced by General Motors (GM) in 2002, with two generations produced since its debut. Originally developed by Daewoo Motors as the Daewoo Kalos, GM's takeover of Daewoo led to the Aveo being marketed under various brands in 120 countries, with Chevrolet being the most prominent. The second-generation Aveo, developed by GM Korea, was launched in 2011 and sold as the Chevrolet Sonic in several markets, including the Americas and Southeast Asia. Production of the second-generation model ceased in October 2020. In 2017, GM began marketing the Chinese Chevrolet Sail sedan as the Aveo in Mexico and other Central American countries. The Aveo is a
