The Chrysler Crossfire, manufactured by Karmann of Germany for the 2004 to 2008 model years, is a rear-wheel drive, two-seat sports car marketed by Chrysler. Developed during the Daimler Chrysler era when Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz were merged, the Crossfire uses the Mercedes-Benz R170 platform and shares 80% of its components with the first generation SLK. The collaboration between the two companies led to the adoption of the R170 platform for the Crossfire after the second generation SLK was built on the R171 platform in 2005.
