The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a renowned sport compact car that was manufactured by Mitsubishi over the span of four generations from 1989 to 2011. Featured in the 1996 model year was a convertible body style, which added a touch of versatility to the Eclipse lineup. Interestingly, the first two generations of the Eclipse shared a platform and components with the rebadged models under the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser brands. This collaboration was a result of the close business ties between Mitsubishi Motors and Chrysler Corporation during that period. Together, they formed the partnership known as Diamond-Star Motors (DSM). The shared platform and parts facilitated a cross-pollination of design ideas, engineering expertise, and manufacturing processes, resulting in a range of sporty and affordable
