The Saturn Ion was a compact car produced by Saturn from 2003 to 2007 as a successor to the Saturn S-Series. It was built on the GM Delta platform and marked the end of production at the Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, which held sentimental value for Saturn owners who attended "homecoming" events there. The Ion was eventually replaced by the Saturn Astra in 2008.
