The Triumph TR4 is a British two-seat open sports car produced from 1961 to 1965, replacing the TR3A in Triumph's long-running TR roadster lineage. It was styled by Giovanni Michelotti, giving it a wider, more modern body compared to its predecessors, while retaining a live rear axle and the familiar 2138cc four-cylinder engine. The TR4 is particularly noted for introducing a full-width dashboard, wind-up windows, and an early form of a removable hardtop panel known as a Surrey top, which allowed the center section of the roof to be removed while retaining a rear window. The TR4A followed in 1965, adding an independent rear suspension option on many markets, distinguishing it as a separate though closely related model.
