Lyell Highway, Derwent Bridge to Queenstown

Name: Lyell Highway, Derwent Bridge to Queenstown
Address: Western Tasmania, Australia

By @drivesomeimages · Western Tasmania, Australia · Driving road

The Lyell Highway from Derwent Bridge to Queenstown crosses some of the wildest country in Australia, through the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, past Lake Burbury and over the West Coast Range. The finale is the descent into Queenstown, a long sequence of bends down bare, mine-scarred hillsides that look like nowhere else. Stop at Nelson Falls and the Lake Burbury lookouts on the way.
