The BMW M3 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 3 Series developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M GmbH, with models being produced for each generation of the 3 Series since 1986 when the E30 M3 was introduced. Originally available as a coupé, convertible body styles were later added. Saloon versions were introduced during the E36 and E90 generations. In 2014, the coupé and convertible models were rebranded as the M4 within the 4 Series range, while the high-performance M3 continued in the 3 Series lineup. Key Points: 1.
