Ford Falcon EL

1996 – 1998

The Ford Falcon EL was produced from 1996 to 1998 as part of Ford Australia's long-running Falcon lineup, slotting between the ED and AU generations in the model's evolution. The EL brought refined styling and updated equipment levels to the large rear-wheel-drive platform that underpinned Australian-market Falcons throughout this era. It was offered in sedan and wagon body styles across a range of trim grades, and the performance-oriented GT variant returned for this generation, cementing the EL's status as a highlight among late-series Falcons of the 1990s. The EL is generally well regarded by Australian enthusiasts as a polished endpoint for the pre-AU Falcon family before Ford introduced more substantial changes with the AU in 1998.
