Haval

Haval, a marque of Great Wall Motors (GWM), has carved out a significant niche in the global SUV market since its establishment. Originating from a company founded in 1984, GWM started its journey with trucks and gradually expanded to include SUVs, which remains their dominant forte. By the late 1990s and early 2000s, GWM was producing vehicles like the Great Wall Pegasus and was listed on the Hong Kong and Shanghai Stock Exchanges, reflecting its growing influence. In 2013, Haval was spun off as a separate brand, focusing exclusively on SUVs, a strategic move that bolstered its market presence. This was evident with the launch of the Haval H6, which quickly became a cornerstone for the brand, achieving significant sales figures and setting benchmarks in safety and performance standards in China. Today, Haval stands as a prominent player, holding a substantial market share, particularly in the Chinese SUV segment. The brand has expanded its reach globally with operations in various international markets, including South Africa and Australia, where it has been well received. Haval's current lineup continues to emphasize innovation, safety, and value, characteristics that have underpinned its steady rise and current successes in the competitive automotive landscape.
