Landwind was a car brand under the ownership of the Chinese automaker Jiangling Motor Holding (JMH), a collaboration between Jiangxi Guokong Automotive Investment Corporation (50%), Jiangling Motors Corporation Group (25%), and Changan Automobile (25%). The brand had its beginnings in 1998 when the chairman of JMCG, Sun Min, established Jiangling Lufeng (Landwind) Automobile Co., Ltd. The primary goal was to create an independent marque that could boost JMCG's technical capabilities and decrease reliance on Ford and Isuzu. The plan entailed designing cars under the Lufeng brand, with production to be carried out on Isuzu's assembly lines. However, the project encountered opposition from Ford and was eventually abandoned
