Maserati 3500 GT

1957 – 1964

The Maserati 3500 GT is an Italian grand touring car produced from 1957 to 1964, representing Maserati's first serious attempt at volume production for road-going customers after years focused on racing. It was powered by a twin-cam inline-six engine derived from Maserati's 350S racing car, displacing 3.5 liters and available with either twin or triple Weber carburetors, with fuel injection offered later in the production run. Coachwork was primarily handled by Touring of Milan in Superleggera form, though Vignale also bodied a number of examples, and a convertible version called the 3500 GTI Spyder was produced alongside the standard coupe. The model is widely credited with establishing Maserati as a credible manufacturer of road cars and sold in numbers that gave the company financial stability through the early 1960s.
