The Pinzgauer is part of a versatile family of high-mobility all-terrain vehicles that come in both 4WD and 6WD models. Initially developed in the late 1960s by Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria, the vehicle was named after the Pinzgauer cattle breed native to Austria. Production of the Pinzgauer continued throughout the late 20th century in Guildford, England, under the ownership of BAE Systems Land & Armaments, where it gained popularity among military users.
