Tofas

Tofaş, a prominent name in the Turkish automotive industry, was founded in 1968 through a collaboration between Koç Holding and Fiat. Situated in Bursa, Turkey, the company quickly established itself by manufacturing the Tofaş Murat 124 as its first model, setting the stage for a long-standing tradition of automotive excellence. Over the years, Tofaş expanded its portfolio, producing notable models like the Murat 131, and later, the Şahin, which became symbols of durability and affordability in Turkey. The brand has been particularly adept at adapting Fiat models for the local market, a strategy that bolstered its domestic popularity. Today, Tofaş continues to thrive as part of the Stellantis group, which emerged from the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group. The company plays a crucial role within Stellantis, focusing on manufacturing models like the Fiat Egea, which enjoys widespread acclaim across Turkey. Tofaş's facilities are not only pivotal for vehicle production but are also central to R&D initiatives that support Stellantis brands globally. As a reflection of its significant contributions to the automotive sector, Tofaş has been repeatedly recognized as having the best automotive R&D center in Turkey, underscoring its role in innovation and technology development in the automotive industry.
