The Volkswagen Touareg is a prestigious mid-size crossover SUV produced by the Volkswagen Group since 2002 at the Volkswagen Bratislava Plant. Named after the Tuareg people from North Africa, the vehicle is recognized as Volkswagen's first luxury mid-size SUV. Initially developed alongside the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7, the Touareg later shared its platform with the Audi Q8, Bentley Bentayga, and Lamborghini Urus as of October 2020. The first-generation Touareg, produced from 2002 to 2010, offered a diverse range of engine options, including five, six, eight, ten, and twelve-cylinder choices.
