The Daihatsu Copen is a 2-door convertible kei car manufactured by the Japanese company Daihatsu. It was first introduced as the Daihatsu Copen concept at the 1999 Tokyo Motor Show. The car was designed with a 660cc turbocharged engine to comply with Japanese kei car regulations. However, due to emission standards in other countries, a more powerful 1.3L non-turbo engine was installed for international markets in 2007.
