The Holden Ute, a coupe utility vehicle manufactured by Holden, the Australian division of General Motors, has been in production since 2000. Prior to this, Holden had offered similar utility models under different names such as Holden Utility (VG) and Holden Commodore utility (VP, VR, VS). Despite this, the term "Holden Ute" became commonly used in both marketing materials and colloquially. The term "ute" itself is an Australian slang word for utility vehicle.
