The Hummer H2 is a robust full-size off-road SUV that was produced by Hummer in collaboration with General Motors from 2002 to 2009. It is constructed on a modified GMT820 GM three-quarter-ton pickup truck chassis at the front and a half-ton 1500 frame at the rear. A noteworthy variant introduced in 2005 was the H2 SUT, a four-door pickup model featuring a midgate that enhances cargo space by opening the vehicle's interior to the external cargo bed. During the development phase in 2001 and 2002, GM granted journalists access to early versions of the Hummer H2 for examination. Production of the H2 took place at the AM General Commercial Assembly Plant in Mishawaka
