Undergoing several name changes, the company eventually became known as Daewoo Motors in 1982 after being acquired by the Daewoo Group. Despite initial success, Daewoo Motors faced financial challenges, leading to the sale of the majority of its assets to General Motors in 2002 for $1.2 billion.
