Ford Falcon XF

1984 – 1988

The Ford Falcon XF, produced from 1984 to 1988, was a continuation of Ford Australia's long-running Falcon lineage and represented the final series in the EA-series body style before the transition to the EA Falcon. As with its immediate predecessor the XE, the XF was built around a body-on-frame construction and offered a range of inline-six and V8 engine options suited to both private and fleet use. The XF is particularly noted in Australian motoring history for its commercial longevity, as the Access Cab variant extended the platform's working life well into the 1990s in light commercial applications. It occupies a transitional place in the Falcon story, sitting between the classic Aussie workhorses of the 1970s and early 1980s and the more modern EA platform that followed in 1988.
