The Jaguar XJ-S, later known as the XJS, was a luxury grand tourer produced by British car manufacturer Jaguar Cars from 1975 to 1996. Available in coupé, fixed-profile, and full convertible body styles, the XJ-S went through three distinct iterations during its production run, culminating in a total of 115,413 units being manufactured over a span of 20 years and seven months. Developed using the platform of the then-current XJ saloon, the XJ-S was recognizable for its distinctive rear buttresses. The early design of the car was influenced by the work of Jaguar's aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, who was a pioneer in applying advanced aerodynamic principles to automotive design.
