Lada Oka

1988 – 2008

Lada›Oka

The Lada Oka is a Soviet and later Russian city car produced from 1988 to 2008 under the VAZ-1111 designation, making it one of the longest-running domestic minicars in Russian automotive history. Developed during the late Soviet era as an affordable, fuel-efficient urban vehicle, the Oka was powered by a small two-cylinder engine derived from the VAZ-1100 unit, displacing around 650 cc in its original form, with a later 750 cc version introduced to meet updated requirements. Production was carried out at multiple facilities over the years, including the SeAZ plant in Serpukhov and the KamAZ facility in Naberezhnye Chelny, reflecting the car's importance as a low-cost transportation solution for ordinary Soviet and Russian consumers. A notable variant was the specially adapted version produced for drivers with disabilities, continuing a tradition established by earlier Soviet microcars from the Serpukhov factory.
