Sleeper Files

Sleeper Files #03: the BMW 540i (E39). 4.4 V8, 282hp, rear drive, six speed manual if you were lucky. Supercharger, injectors, headers and exhaust, a proper diff. Still a 5 Series. Until the light goes green. Would you build it? #bmw #e39 #540i #sleeper #sleeperfiles Car drawn from a photo by Charles from Port Chester, New York (CC BY 2.0).

Volume UP!!! Back in early 2000 we talked to 100s of builders to try and get mounts for a 2JZ in a BMW couldn't find any. Now everyone seems to have a 2JZ Beamer. @BMW 3 Series E30#bmw3seriese30‌

One of the most amazing and scariest experiences of my driving life was doing the @nurburgring anyone that says driving the ring is easy. Wasn't driving. Withing 6 corners the breaks on my little BMW 3 Series E46 were cooked. Straights that I hit top speed of the car too slowing down to take a corner with a GT3 overtaking me. Dam scary. Can't wait to do it again. 🤙#nurburgring #bmw #e46 #tracklife
