The Mercury Monterey was a popular full-size car series produced by the Mercury division of Ford from 1950 to 1974. The name was inspired by Monterey Bay, and the original model was introduced as a top-of-the-line two-door sedan in 1950 and 1951, aimed at competing with the hardtop models of Oldsmobile and Buick.
